So, the C-section was scheduled for 9:30 this morning. It’s now 10am and I’m back in my room, still growing the baby. Turns out a woman in labor had a prolapsed cord, meaning that the umbilical cord came out before the baby, so she needed my spot in the OR. Fine by me! Now we [...] Yesterday and today, I made it my focus to make some meals that had enough leftovers to freeze for while I’m in the hospital and for a while after. I made the the zucchini, ham and potato soup yesterday along with the butternut squash and pear soup from the Wegmans Menu magazine. Today, I was [...] Six days to go! Chuck, Nick and I all went to see Dr. Gabel this morning. There’s been no progress as far as labor goes, which is a good thing. Everything is set for Tuesday morning, and we even got a later time – 9:30am! We were originally scheduled for 7:30am, but we have to [...] I had my 37-week OB visit yesterday. Everything looks good – we’ll have ONE more visit with Dr. Gabel before the baby is born, wow! By now, Nicky knows exactly what happens at the appointments and tells us all what to do next. It’s our turn when the nurse comes out and calls, “Jennifer”, then [...] Nicky and I went to see Dr. Gabel again this morning. Nothing thrilling; we just had the usual check-up. Everything still looks good; I’m huge. He said that I shouldn’t be surprised to start feeling lots of pressure now, which is EXACTLY what I’m feeling, because of the stress on all of [...] Friday was my most recent visit to the OB. I saw Dr. Kerpelman again and had a pretty uneventful visit. Everything looks good and I’m already starting my weekly visits! Four more visits and we’ll have a new baby, wow! The waiting room was actually the bulk of this visit; we were there for almost 45 minutes before my name was called! Nicky was starting to get antsy, and I didn’t want to get involved in anything new because I kept thinking we’d be the next ones called. Sheesh…next time, I’ll bring more to do [...] Nicky and I went to see Dr. Kerpelman for my 28-week OB visit. It was pretty uneventful; my glucose test was negative, so I don’t have gestational diabetes. My blood pressure was good, and we heard the baby’s heartbeat. I’ve gained about 35 pounds, yikes, but I’m trying not to freak out about it because [...] I just got a phone call from my doctor’s office; my C-section is on September 22nd at 7:30am with Dr. Gabel, the OB who delivered Nicky. I was originally hoping to get a 9:30am appointment so that I could get Nicky up in the morning and tell him about what would happen that day so [...] I set up another baby game here; please join the fun! |
