We had such a great day today from start to finish. The day began when I woke up at 7:15 to the sound of silence – Ryan had slept all night long! I took advantage of my time alone to take a shower (ahhh!) before Ryan woke up at 8 and Nicky woke up at [...] We’re usually a pretty healthy crew around our house. Ryan only got sick once, when he was 8 weeks old, and Nicky caught the same cold the next day. Otherwise, Nicky’s only gotten sick a few times. This past week, Ryan got a fever on Monday night when I got home from work, and he was [...] Nicky has really shown us that he has a kind heart in many ways, several of which are how he treats Ryan. When he fusses and I can’t tend to him immediately, Nicky will run over to try to calm him with toys or rub his belly. As I got ready to get everyone outside to [...] Nicky is pretty much potty-trained now! I can’t believe how quickly that happened. He still wears training pants at naptime and a diaper at bedtime, but he wears underwear the rest of the time! We folded up all of his other diapers for Ryan now – I’m so proud of him!!! Today at lunch, Nicky was singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” while he was eating a sandwich and soup. I told him that maybe he could sing after, meaning after he was done eating. He then started to sing, “After, after, after…” For breakfast the other day, Nicky got out graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate chips and set them all on the counter for me. He really thought we’d have s’mores for breakfast…I wish! I created a new album last night in our gallery under Family called Winter 2010 and have added a bunch of recent photos. Enjoy the photos of my handsome men! Nicky is so funny…I love to hear the different things he says. Here are a few that he’s come up with lately: playing “hide and secret” He has a whole routine down for helping me in the bathroom in the morning. He opens up the toilet seat for me, then opens the shower door. After [...] I uploaded a video of Ryan laughing at Nicky’s antics a few days ago to YouTube. A friend whose son has allergies to peanuts (which Nicky cannot have yet) recommended this recipe to me. It’s certainly not Aunt Leslie’s peanut butter balls, but they’re good! I’ll make them again for sure! Plus, I wasn’t even aware of SunButter (made from sunflower seeds) before. Nicky already had a sample and had no [...] |
