Ryan’s 6-month pediatrician visit

We took our growing boy to see Dr. Shin this morning for a 6-month well-child visit.  He was 18 pounds, 12 ounces and 28 inches long!  (At his 6-month visit, Nicky was 19 pounds, 10 ounces and 28 and 1/2 inches long, so a little pudgier.)  Everything looks great for him – he’s rolling all over the place now, babbling and loves to stand up with help.  He had three shots, which he took like a champ – he only cried for a few seconds.  Thank goodness, because Nicky had to go potty and one of the receptionists was able to entertain Ryan while I helped him.

A couple of days ago, we started Ryan on his very first solid foods.  He had some rice cereal, which he isn’t in love with but will eat.  In a couple of days, we’ll try some oatmeal for him.  I’m very, very excited to start making baby food again!  Not only is it fun for me, I’ll really enjoy getting more vegetables into all of our diets.  We try to be pretty good about it, but I know we’ll be even better now that I’ll be preparing all of the foods for Ryan.
