Chuck and I decided to have a low-key Easter this year, at home with Nicky. We had a really wonderful day!
We didn’t have to get up until Nicky woke up at 7:30 this morning, which is about normal for him but an extra hour of sleep for us! Nicky found his Easter basket in the Rainforest Gym, and Keanu found an egg with treats inside of it hiding on top of the ottoman. We had a relaxing morning as a family, playing with Nicky’s Easter toys.
It was such a beautiful day outside that we decided to go for a walk. It was only 32 degrees out, but it was so sunny that it was a shame to stay inside all day. So, we put some sunscreen on Nicky’s face, bundled him all up and took him for a walk around the block (about half a mile).
When we got back, it was time to start cooking for our Easter dinner. Here’s what we had:
- Spinach and arugula salad
- Baked Pineapple Stuffing
- Sweet Potatoes and Coconut
- Ham cooked in diet Sierra Mist
- Pumpkin pie
Our cousin, Cory, just got back from spring training in Florida today, so we brought him over to eat dinner with us. It was nice for all of us to be together, since we weren’t with the rest of our family. (As an added bonus, there was no fighting over who had to say grace!) And, as a true Brownsten at heart, Nicky won the Wally Award, right in the middle of dinner!
Almost right after dinner, Nicky went to bed, and Chuck and Cory tried out the 2-player mode on Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
A good time was had by all!
Oh, yeah…Nicky learned to how clap his hands together today!
